Looking for a Few Good Early Riser Women & Men!
CEO is in need of morning volunteers. We are seeking volunteers to work with our adult-at-risk clients at either our men’s or women’s facilities, both located in Lakewood. CEO works with individuals who have been either recently incarcerated or placed on probation, assisting them with obtaining their GED, improving their grade level skills, life skills, employment and a successful transition back into society.
The Morning Shift
We are in need of mature adults who can spare a little time preferably in the mornings, any day Monday through Thursday – your choice – working one-on-one with our residents on these skills, including one-on-one tutoring. We have separate facilities for our men and women. The men’s facility (at the former JCRS Hospital site) houses over 250 residents. The newly constructed women’s facility (near Simms and Colfax) maintains a population of about 80 individuals.
Please visit our web site to learn more about us. We would also encourage you to view this recently completed client video depicting our new “Read to Me” program. This video will give you a very good preview of the adult clients who you could be working with. Our clients come from all walks of life and all do have felony histories of one degree or the other. I can tell you as a five year volunteer that working with these men and women is very fulfilling.
If you wish to speak to someone about volunteering – I am always available (retired) at 303-456-9622 (ask for Craig) You can contact CEO Program Director Dory Dannettell at 720-544-5549 to learn more. The hours are flexible and the volunteer assignments will be tailored to your interests and skills. One of us at CEO would always be willing and eager to come speak to your membership if you so wish.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
